You'll never read another story like this one. The world's tallest man has put his extraordinary 106-centimetre (42 inch)-long arms to animal-tarian use by reaching down the throats of two dolphins to retrieve large pieces of foam stuck in their stomachs.

Bao Xishun is a herdsman from inner Mongolia. He was born in 1951 and measures a whopping 2.361 metres (7 feet 8.95 inches).



He was called in after the dolphins swallowed plastic used around their aquarium pool in Fushun, north-east China. Their veterinarian had attempted to remove the offending plastic using instruments, but the attempts failed when the dolphins' stomachs contracted around the tools. It seems a organic approach was more to their liking.

Apparently, some small bits of plastic remain in their stomachs, but the veterinarians say the animals will be able to digest them.
